As I wake up I find myself in what I could only describe as a cell. A basic bed, toilet and sink. There was however a fresh change of clothes. I feel panicked as the night(?) before came rushing back.

Suddenly the door swings open and a guard steps in, grabs my arm and half drags me out of the room. I finally get my feet under me when he enters another room.. or more likely attached building. It had large doors on one end and a concrete floor. the walls looks as though they were made from thick metal and high above there were windows above to some sort of dark room, observation room maybe.

Then I finally train my eyes to what is sitting in the middle of the hangar, tied down not with ropes but steel cables and a few other attachments, was Alpha. The Piper was faceless, still, obviously trying to out wait these people. After all he was an aircraft, he was use to sitting for hours, even days, on end like that.

"Hello"

The voice attracts my attention, a man with dark hair just came through the same door me and the guard did. He had on a nice uniform, Army I think, and looked every bit professional. Most of the time I loved military uniform, but this guy left a sour taste in my mouth.

"You must be Caitlyn... StarNight is it? Legally changed you name and all. I can't say we're sorry for the shock we caused you, but you are very important to our mission."

I didn't respond, just look at him. He gives a small shrugs.

'Well since you aren't going to ask, I'll tell, the military has noticed strange things happening with their aircraft and more civilian report seeing things which shouldn't be possible, like seeing aircraft move on their own, jump or 'hear voices' from places where there are no humans. We set out to investigate and came to the conclusion that aircraft can in fact move and speak on their own. But we have no way to prove it or study it. Any camera we set up block or broken, guards never hear anything and whenever we would set up at an airport all under the guise of various training missions or other excuses, we could never see anything. Until now." He moved and walked over to stand in front of Alpha and the guard led me over closer but not as close. "You see, we'd lost hope, thinking we'd have to report in that our mission was a failure, especially after a late spat of incidents of aircraft flying around without pilots and doing things without their pilot's permission. Then we saw you. You got them to trust you, I don't know how or why, but this hunk of metal put faith in a civilian artist who can't even fly on her own." He walked forward a little bit, not willing to touch the aircraft even though it appeared to have a sort of make-shift muzzle on it. "We would try everything to see if they were alive, pain tests for sure, we would never get anything.. but now." He took a few steps back from the aircraft and nodded to the guard. "We know exactly how to get them, or at least this one, to react."

The guard roughly dragged me into Alpha's 'line of view' pulled out his sidearm, clicked the safety off and pressed it to my head.

Suddenly Alpha transformed, his growl deep and angry as he strained against that which was holding him in place, his eyes narrow as he glared at the guard and Army man. The Army man smiled as he did a walk around of the aircraft and then stopped about a foot away from his nose. Alpha tried to lunge forward, but one of the cables, which I now noticed is covered in rubber, clamped to the tie down ring under his left wing, was not there for restraint. I heard a noise of pain from Alpha and he seemed to slump slightly froward, his sides heaving in an effort to calm himself.

"Alright aircraft listen here." The man said, placing a hand on his propeller and yanking down towards the concrete floor. Alpha gave a whine and went with the movement, glancing up to meet the eyes of the man. "That wire will soon be replaced by a device which will shock you every time you misbehave, and while I'm sure you could gain a tolerance there is one thing that will remain constant." He reaches out and yanks me forward, twisting my arm painfully. I cry out in pain and Alpha's eyes jump from the man to me in distress. "You're little human here won't last long if you continue to be difficult."

He releases my arm and I fall to the ground, cradling the hurt arm with the other. Aplha strained even harder forward to try and get to me, to protect me I realize, when the guard picks me up and begins to drag me away. I hear Alpha whine loudly, the last thing I see is a munch of other people emerge from other doors to begin testing.
The evil people.... they appear to be... the government? Or maybe some rouge faction of the military? Who knows?
